Bon Dieu port in Namur - Refurbishment of the wharf wall

Refurbishment of the wharf wall of the Bon Dieu port in Namur.

  • Removal of reusable fenders, demolition and removal of fractured and cracked slabs, demolition of a paved area adjacent to the above-mentioned slabs.
  • Excavation of land behind the rear curtain wall.
  • Stabilisation of port land, demolition and removal of the damaged wharf wall.
  • Installation of the new wharf wall:
    • new sheet pile wall parallel to the rear curtain wall,
    • transversal tie walls between the two walls, forming compartments,
    • in-filling them with rock-fill provided by the Administration,
    • laying of a capping beam made of reinforced concrete, surfaced with stones provided by the Administration,
    • installation of two bollards and a ladder,
    • installation of fenders- either ones recovered or ones provided by the Administration.
  • In-filling of the port land;
  • reinforced conrete surfacing;
  • consolidation of the eroded foundations of a quay wall (downstream of the Bon Dieu wharf wall) by underwater concreting.
