Citydev.brussels awards contract to Eiffage Development

To develop a new phase for its GreenWood district in the Woluwé-Saint-Lambert municipality of Brussels, Eiffage Development responded to a call for projects issued by Citydev.brussels.

In the second half of 2019, Citydev.brussels launched a call for projects aimed at promoters. The focus of the initiative was to come up with a project and a plot to construct subsidised housing. Three call for project categories were suggested, each divided into two types: contaminated and non-contaminated soil. The first category focused on projects with between 25 and 50 subsidised housing units; the second on projects between 51 and 100 subsidised housing units, and the third on more than 100 subsidised housing units.

The Eiffage Development project selected by Citydev.brussels includes 39 subsidised housing units and 15 unsubsidised units, which share the same common areas to ensure cohesive social diversity. Special care was taken with the landscaping, which will include a shared vegetable garden and private terraces separated by screen planters made of wire mesh and filled with wood chippings, creating an intimate setting for ground floor housing.

This new project is the 5th phase in the GreenWood district works, which will eventually have 700 new-build housing units.
