During the week of 17 February 2020, Eiffage Benelux focused on solidarity, giving employees the opportunity to work together for one day towards a world of greater solidarity at one of the 20 selected non-profit organisations in various locations around the country.
Over 200 of our colleagues pitched in, preparing meals for the underprivileged, manufacturing furniture from recyclable pallets, restyling the garden of a day-care centre, doing odd jobs for the benefit of disadvantaged children and young adults, etc. Every employee was able to rally behind his or her favourite project.
After our first successful endeavour in 2018, we look back on the 2020 Solidarity Week with just as much pride. We would like to thank all the organisations for giving our Eiffage Benelux volunteers such a warm welcome and making this year’s Solidarity Week such a great success.
We are already looking forward to next year with plenty of new, supportive actions!
A few of the projects:
Betonne Jeugd (Antwerp): social integration of disadvantaged young people and young people with issues who are unable to find support in existing youth services.
Kamiano (Antwerp – Brussels): Kamiano serves a thousand meals a week to homeless people in Antwerp, Brussels and Liège.
Solidarity pallets (Brussels): This project aims to produce recycled wooden pallets that are given a great “second life” in a non-profit organisation or school.
Villa Clementina (Zemst): integrated and inclusive day care for young children with and without disabilities.
Natuurpunt Blankenberge: The largest nature reserve in West Flanders is situated in the vast polder landscape between Blankenberge and Wenduine. Eiffage collected waste in De Fonteintjes.
Vzw Stappen: Support centre for special youth rehabilitation for girls between the ages of 14 and 21 years, who are placed in a treatment facility by the juvenile court or through voluntary support.
La Petite Source School (Bossut): Primary school with specialised education for children with specific learning disabilities.
